Our first in a series of house concerts featuring a very unique collaboration of original compositions from two incredible jazz composers/musicians. The Collective includes Shunzo Ohno (trpt/flugelhorn), Christian Pabst (keyboards), Bryan Copeland (acou/elec. basses), John Clay (drums)

We are very excited about our venue for this concert series! A beautiful, roomy, open floor plan, with vaulted ceilings and amazing acoustics! There is plenty of un-cramped parking on premises and in the street.

6:00 doors open - food and refreshments served
7:00-9:30 Two set performance
Suggested Donation:
$20/person includes admission, dinner/snacks and beverages

About the artists:

Shunzo Ohno, fresh off two tours of Japan, brings his award winning compositions and his Miles Davis infused playing that is always the catalyst for musical interaction of the highest kind. Christian Pabst hails from Amsterdam, NL and is on a rare tour to the US working with German pop star Sven Ratske. Christian a gifted pianist and composer, brings beautiful compositions from 3 current albums into the mix. Christian travels Europe performing extensively with his own band and also teaches at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, as well as writing film scores. http://www.christianpabst.com

Bryan Copeland, began studying the bass with world renowned classical bassist Satoshi Okamoto (New York Philharmonic), and has continued his studies with Larry Grenadier, Erik Revis, Drew Gress, and Harvie S. He received his bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from Texas State University under the tutelage of Dr. James Polk (Ray Charles writer/arranger). Bryan is a sought after bassist on the New York scene, including his own band Bryan and the Aardvarks.

John Clay (drums) is a musical veteran having toured the country as well as playing at many of the top jazz clubs. John has performed and/or recorded with The Main Ingredient featuring Cuba Gooding, Zoot Sims, C’est What, Bill Withers, Jimmy Rowles and Jimmy Raney. Other performance/recording credits include Teddy Wilson, Jaki Byard, Harold Maburn, Jerry Bergonzi, Shunzo Ohno Collective and many other local New York City artists. www.johnclaymusic.com
